February - March -Parts of Speech: unlearn / learn / relearn proper use of verb tenses
TASK: Two 50-minute periods
- work in groups of 4-5 students
- brainstorm information related to verbs: types, tenses, application, mood (Ind/Imp/Sub), voice (P/A), etc.
- create a poster to synthesize the discussion
- prepare a short presentation to explain the poster
- present the information to the class and answer questions

March - April: understand new concepts / discuss / show evidence of learning

- read information on two new concepts: summarizing and paraphrasing
- ask/answer questions to clarify/better understand information
- create a poster to illustrate the group's understanding of each concept and their relationship
- prepare a short presentation to explain the poster
- present the information to the class and answer questions
